The Art of Aerodynamics
Branded content, documentary, sports
Sometimes you may feel consumed by your own lust for perfection. You find it difficult to achieve the detachment that is indispensable for your performing. Your intense desire for perfection drives you to unusual demands towards yourself. Will you ever achieve the perfection you have in mind? Or is your search for perfection more interesting than the perfection itself?
Get Wings is a documentary film about Dutch cyclist Wilco Kelderman and his professional cycling team. Wilco is learning to ‘fly’ but he is also in conflict with himself. Will he ever achieve the perfection he has in mind?
The film is based around a unique aerodynamic test held during spring 2016. Red Bull asked us to get involved. At first to guide the test. Eventually we could convince them to tell the story of Wilco Kelderman and his constant desire, and uncertainties, to be as aerodynamics as possible.
We emphasized on the uniqueness of this test and the access we could get will working close together with the team. It was difficult to find the right balance between de test and the story, but eventually we choose a form that could contribute to both and helped us to be almost ‘invisible’ for Wilco and his team. Invisibility was key because Wilco was preparing himself for what could be his most important race ever: the Tour de France 2016 prologue.
